We love getting to know our customers and working with them on a personal level, so we thought it would only be fair to share some of our history to help you get to know us a little better as well!

Like many individuals and companies, we look to our past roots to really understand who we are where we come from. The business started early on when Mr. Frank Antonucci immigrated from Maida, Italy and settled into the Ambler region of Pennsylvania. Having the skill set of an established mason he decided to purchase a property in 1956 and created a masonry company. He worked hard to grow his business and eventually he was joined by his son.

His son, Salvatore Antonucci, a World War II veteran, learned his father’s craft and continued in the tradition of masonry work.  While he continued the masonry work, and with the help of his wife, Mary, he also decided to expand the company to include a cut your own Christmas tree farm.  In 1968, just 12 years after his father started his masonry company, Salvatore Antonucci laid the foundation for what would become the start of Sal’s Nursery and Landscaping, Inc, by starting to grow his nursery stock.

Three short years later in 1971, Sal’s Garden Center was officially registered as a nursery highlighting an inventory of unique plant selections and establishing the business as a premier garden center early on.

As Sal’s Garden Center continued to bloom and blossom the company expanded into what we know it as today, Sal’s Nursery and Landscaping, Inc.  Continuing into a third generation, Salvatore Antonucci’s son, John Antonucci, oversees the business with his staff who continue the standards of hard work, integrity and quality workmanship implemented by Frank, Salvatore, and Mary.

Over 50 years later we’re still a family owned and operated company, taking pride in maintaining those quality standards and developing personal relationships with customers, just as if they were our own family.

  1. Pretty insightful submit. Never thought that it was this simple after all. I had spent a superior deal of my time looking for someone to explain this topic clearly and you’re the only one that ever did that. Kudos to you! Keep it up
